About Jason

Mid-Life Male BioHacker

I began my journey to better health in my early 50's.  Like many men, I didn't think I needed to see a doctor regularly, but found myself showing signs of many typical midlife males, what I call, mal-adjustments.  I was tired, overweight, losing mental focus, with daily aches and pains.  I felt like I was losing my edge, and my masculinity.

I finally decided to seek out a new physician to get a physical (first time in 10 years), and see what could be done.  My previous physician was a regular medical doctor (MD), but I wanted to try something different, so I sought out an Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) [MD vs. DO: What's the Difference?].  A DO specializes in a holistic approach to medicine, where they treat the entire body, not just symptoms. For years I felt like a regular MD was not really helping me feel better long-term, which is part of the reason I had not has a physical in over 10 years.  But my body was telling me I needed to do something, because my daily quality of life was suffering.

The DO I found did a physical and immediately diagnosed my high blood pressure, and through blood tests found deficiencies in vitamin D and vitamin B12 (both typical for middle-aged men and women).  I was put on blood pressure medication to get that under control, and began taking both vitamins daily.  I soon felt better, and have been seeing that DO regularly since then.

That series of events inspired me to start researching and working improving my health in various ways.  Almost 10 years later, and with improved health and vitality, the purpose of this site and blog is to share the details of what I found.  If you want to take control of your health to live a better quality of life, with increased vitality, this is the site for you.
